Anue Pipette Kit /
Colostrum Kit

For collecting colostrum

The Anue Pipette is a compact device that uses vacuum technology to help collect colostrum. This vacuum mechanism minimizes the risk of spillage, and the kit also includes the Anue ENFit Universal Lid for added safety during freezing and transport.

Hospitals that have tested the pipette with in-patient mothers report that it is significantly easier to use. It allows mothers to handmilk with one hand while collecting colostrum with the other. The vacuum function is particularly effective at drawing up the thick drops of colostrum.

Why Colostrum?

Colostrum is the first drops of breast milk. Colostrum drops are rich in nutrients. They contain immune substances that strengthen the infant's immune system - which can help prevent infections. The milk is high in protein and low in fat and sugar. It is filled with white blood cells that produce antibodies. Colostrum helps the infant's intestines mature.

There are many benefits to collecting colostrum before birth – for example, if the mother has diabetes, if her BMI is over 30, if she has high blood pressure, thyroid problems, a planned cesarean section, or if the mother is being induced. All of these can lead to a later start to breast milk production, or provide a baby who needs extra nutrition after birth.

Any amount of colostrum the mother collects before birth is very beneficial for the baby.
